ok i just upgraded my computer to winxp
now the other computers in the network can no longer access @home email

the server name is
mail
mail

as most of you know... well in winxp
Internet Connection Sharing requires a fully qualified domain name (FQDN) to connect to your e-mail or newsgroup server. When not using Internet Connection Sharing, you might be able to use only the first part of the name of your e-mail or newsgroup server.

i don't think it likes just "mail"

any tips???

You need to define your mail route in outlook
such as mail.*****.**.home.com
Just mail may not work anymore

He's correct. If you don't know your domain (subdomain), PM me with your user name before 9:30pst and I'll let you know what your domain is.

No, I won't hack your account, I work for @Home :)

FFMCobalt:

Since you work at @Home, could you answer these question ?

1. I'm using one way cable modem (telco, cheap bastards haven't upgrade my are yet), when I'm uploading (morpheus or other) my download stalled really bad. Is there a way to fix this ?
2. @Home techie said that the Motorola SB3100D modem will only work with my LNE100TX NIC (they capture unique hardware serial ?).
Is there a way to have another computer use/share this connection ? If I got a router/hub, will it work ?

Thanks.

i just called @home about an email problem i had...some reason they deleted my account. morons. anyway.

they said *you know when ur on hold they say stuff instead of play music* that there many problems with xp and email. they said their "advanced" technical staff *lol* can help you.

so try and give them a call

oh and for the server mail
it is the name for all @home *i think*

but 99.9% of time entering the server ip gets it to work...

edit: yes it is just mail or the ip of the server

Actually, I don't know jack about Telco Return modems because my department doesn't handle those anymore. Apparently there's a special department for handling that. All I know is that the Telco Return connections suck. Can you get a standard connection??

Again, I got no clue as to what special hardware you need for that, sorry.

There is. Go here and look around in member's services. You can set up more computers by paying a small fee for another computer name and IP. Not sure how that's gonna work with Telco Return system, though.
