Hi,
If anyone is interested I downloaded and installed a 14 mb XP SP1 pre-release and after a reboot my floppy was back!
GET IT HERE
I have been banging my brains out trying to figure out this problem that appeared out of nowhere, for no reason at all.
In my device manager, windows tells me the following when I doulble click on my floppy drive w/ and exclamation point, "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
Well, I have installed an new floppy drive, swapped cables, swapped power connectors, reinstalled over winxp, deleted the flpydisk.sys driver file and extracted a new one from the drivers.cab file. The strange part is that it boots from a bootable disk just fine, so apparently the drive works, I have booted from dos and windows startup disks, and ran programs from the floppy drive in dos. Only Winxp cant seem to porperly install the floppy one day after a cold boot.
I have an abit KT7, and have updated to the latest via drivers for the board too. So Im lost, anyone out there successfully conquered this problem?
Thank you,
Carlos GET IT HEREsp1
