I'm running Windows XP RC1 and attempting to get Dual monitors working. System is an AMD 1.2Ghz thunderbird on an Iwill KK266-R with 512mb of RAM. Video cards are Visiontek Geforce 3 AGP and PINE TNT2 Vanta 16mb PCI. I had to disable ACPI to get XP to install at all. Tried out both the 12.41 WHQL drivers and the leaked 12.90 (which some have said work well) and both exhibit the same problem.
I can turn on the second display fine. I can move a window over to it, though it seems like a "delayed" action. I move it there, let go of the mouse and it keeps on a gliding a little bit. I can then move my cursor back to my main monitor and do whatever. As soon as I move it back to my secondary display, the computer locks up HARD. No keyboard or mouse movement, can't Ctrl-Alt-Del. Someone suggested it was hardware conflict and to switch the slot on PCI card. Tried that , no luck. The video card is currently sharing IRQ 10 with my second onboard IDE controller and a USB controller. I went into device manager to attempt to switch it to IRQ 7 which is free and everything is all greyed out
Any ideas?
