WinXP and Dual Core/64 apps

Hey guys, I'm buying one of the new Conroes soon and I'm curious how XP will work with dual core and such. I know there is an XP64 out but I've heard a lot of bad things about it. Not to mention Vista is right around the corner.

What I'm wondering is how do apps work with dual core machines under XP. If I'm playing WoW is there a way to set it up so WoW plays on one Core while all other apps load on the other? Is this automatic? What if I load 2x WoWs for 2boxing, will 1 load on one Core and the other on the other core?

Sorry for the stupid question. Playing catchup before a big purchase and just getting the usual jitters!

There's nothing really bad about XP64, just that there's virtually no 64-bit apps to run on it and drivers for some hardware can be hard to fine or nonexistant.

Windows will balance all of your processes between the two cores just as it would if you had 2 completely seperate CPUs. You can set the affinity for a process to make it stick on one CPU all of the time but that's largely pointless, just let Windows do it's thing.
