WinXP and DivX

Am I the only one with this problem? I can't play DivX movies on WinXP. Mediaplayer is only playing the music, I get no video. And the DivX player (GDivX) is playing the movie upside down (weird eh?).

I installed the divX drivers already. Is there any problems with DivX and XP that I sould know about?

Did you make sure to install DivX 3.11 instead of the DivX4 crap?

i beleive the new divx 4.0 beta works w/ 3.11 encoded stuff (not opendivx4, but divx4beta)

wha... unless someone sez this is just a problem ssp has been facing, there went my plans of upgrading to xp.

ssp, you using winxp rc1? maybe the final has better support. guess we have to wait to find out.

Yeah, I'm using RC1. Don't worry, Those DivX guys will find a way around this shiznit!

Gona try Divx4 beta now. I'll post my results after.

UPDATE - With DivX4 beta 2, the movies are working in the player it provided.But windows media player is still fu*ky about it. Hopefully the next update will fix this.

wow can't believe I didnt hear of this sooner.. maybe an isolated incident? DivX is the biggest part of my entertainment eXPerience.

I have RC1 and use Kristal Studio Codecs Pak v 4.3.3, it's the best divx codec out there right now because it works with most divx types.

Thanks MrBurns. I'm downloading it now. I'm in win2k now, but I'll install it when I go back to XP (hehe... downloading another divx video from a friend now )
