I am running XP RC2 and have been working with the built in CD burning software. It leaves much to be desired. I have a couple of questions if anyone knows the answer.
1. For CDRW discs, it appears that you can add to the disc but when you want to erase, you basically have to erase the entire disc and rebuild it. A real pain and almost useless being this way. Am I correct in assuming it works this way?
2. You cannot make a disc image with the software? It will copy the files over from another CD, but not in a disc image format.
3. Does Easy CD version 4 work with XP. During the installation of XP over my Win2K, it said it was incompatible, therefor I removed it. I guess I can try installing it again and see what happens.
So MS did include CD recording software, but it is very limited and is geared mainly towards music. I guess that is the Windows eXPerience. It looks like for the techies we will still have to go get third party software for fully capable CD recording. That will help MS in the case of the DOJ and other vendors though.
