Ok, here goes. Whenever I am running a game, and Alt+Tab back to the desktop...I cannot do any kind of typing into any other program or window. What I mean by this is while I am running a game, say NHL 2002, in order to setup multiplayer games using EA's matchmaker service, the game bumps back into the WinXP environment and loads a webpage in IE for the service. This is where people gather to join games. Once people have created/joined a game, the browser window will relaunch into the game and start the match. Well in XP, when you have a game running in the background, and either you Alt+Tab out or the game does it for you, you cannot do any kind of typing in nay kind of program, or IE window at all. WinXP will halt th e program and send the error report thing up. After you do that, it closes the program. Try it. Open up a game, and Alt+Tab out of it. Then open Wordpad and try typing anything. It locks the program everytime then sends the report and closes it down. This makes it impossible to setup multiplayer games, chat on ICQ or anything else while running a game in the background.
This is the only major hangup I have had with XP so far which is saying alot! Win 98SE didnt have this problem though. Thanks!
