WinTV Theater gives me no sound output.....???

I installed this card and the new drivers took easily. There isn't any uninstalled components according the hardware manager. I get great video via cable and it tunes in all the local radion stations that I would normally get in my car. I know it is working, but I can't get any audio output.

I have tried to hook it up internally via the cdrom-style audio cable. No go. I have tried to use the 1/8" connector that is bundled in the input/output cables coming out of the back of the card

1/8" plug
yellow - video in
red - audio out
white - audio out
black - center channel out

I have also tried to use a combined signal from the red and white rca plugs and that also didn't work.

I have tried to adjust the audio setting in Windows, all maxed out and none muted. I have also played with the nForce audio options, same results. I have also adjusted the audio settings in the WinTV and WinRadio programs. Still not loud enough.

If I crank my speakers to their limit, I can barely hear something. But, the white noise generated by amplifying that much "nothing" nearly drowns it out.

System config:

Athlon 1200
Asus A7N266-VM/L
512 MB PC2100
30.0 GB Maxtor hdd
Matrox Millenium PCI video card (on-board doesn't like 2 sticks of ram installed right now, gotta remove one to go back)
48x cdrom
4x4x16x Phillips burner
Floppy

I have installed WinXP w/ SP1 and Direct X 9.0a I went to Hauppage's website and downloaded all the latest drivers and programs and installed them repeatedly. I use their HCWClear program between installations. Anyone have any idea why I can't get an audio signal?

Connect the audio-out on the back of the WinTV card to the audio-in of your sound card. Then go to Volume control on Windows and make sure Line-in is enabled (not muted). Also, go to the mixer of your sound card software and make sure Line-in is enabled.

Did all that and it still doesn't work. All the volue settings in both Windows and nForce tray options are both maxed out. The volume options in the WinTV settings are also maxed out. Very little sound. If I remove the internal cd-rom audio cable I have hooked up, the volume disappears.
