WinTV-PVR150 for 64 bit XP Pro

Installing a pvr-150 into an Asus A8N-E/AMD 64 (3200) rig. I'm trying to use Hauppauge's new drivers from their support page, pvr150_20_35_23348 and pvr150_22_23257, but as soon as I try to install the first driver, I get a message that 64 bit systems are not supported.

This despite the fact that the support page specifically says that it supports Windows XP x64 edition.

Any suggestions?

The drivers appear to be 32 bit ; I see nothing on the page that suggests they're 64 bit.

Actually they do say so at the bottom on the tech bulletin:

Notes:
- this driver now supports 64 bit operating systems, such as Windows XP x64 Edition.

But I think the mystery is cleared with the note I got back from Tech Support:

Attached is a newer driver update. Please see if this addresses the issue. This driver should successfully install, and you should then be able to install the standard 32bit WinTV application software which should work correctly with this new driver.

The file is a "pre-release" zip. I'll give it a shot this weeked.

I love it when vendors state, "Yes, this is a 64-bit version", but it actually doesn't work. Same thing happened when XP came out. I remember WinFax Pro 10.x, which Symantec boldly labled, "XP-COMPATIBLE!!!!" But, of course, it wasn't. Bless Symantec's little bug-laden heart. 🙁

Congratulations on being brave enough to try to get a media-center PC working with 64-bit XP. You are braver than me!

Naw, just cheap.:thumbsup:

The mobo and cpu were from the AMD road show and I got the PVR card for $50AR some time ago.

Here's hopin'.

No dice.:thumbsdown::thumbsdown::thumbsdown:

Upon extracting the files, it seems that the only executable file is entitled HcwDriverInstall(32Bit Only). As I?m trying to install onto a 64-bit machine, this doesn?t do much to inspire confidence.

Nonetheless, I tried to run it and got the same instantaneous screen noting that 64-bit systems were not supported.

E-mail back to tech support. Let's see what happens next.
