Wintv PVR card

I purchased a Hauppauge Wintv-PVR 1081 rt card for my son's computer. He has a ASUS
M4N2-SLI motherboard and an AMD 6000 X2 chipset. The operating systems are Linux and Windows Vista on a partioned hard drive. The card does not work in either operating system. Does anyone know whether there is a board compatability problem, and operating system?

There are several Hauppauge tuners that are Vista-certified, but I don't think this is one of them. I really doubt that it's a motherboard issue.
