This card works pretty well with virtualdub. You can use it to record TV programs using divx encoder, esp. if you have too much disk space and don't know what to do with it (since there have been so many good hard drive deals these days.)

Downside is the mono audio.

I wouldn't call the I/O Magic card a piece of junk. The actual card in the I/O Magic box is a Pinnacle PCTV pro.

Hauppauge TV cards are defacto in the industry. You will find software support everywhere. I use them all the time. i have had three of thier cards. These are not crap cards; they are a pretty good price. No stereo sound, no FM module, but that's not a big problem. pretty good deal.

This is a nice price for this item. I bought two of these in December for $10 each when Staples had them on clearance, and since it's very unlikely you would be able to find one still in stock there this is a good deal. BTW these cards work great.

I alos bought it today. BTW, both the rebates ask for original UPC... !

Anyhow.. I am getting blue screen on all the channels... I have plugged it directly in the cable point. Their website doesn't seem to be too 'support'ive. Any ideas ?

I picked one up today. The VFW drivers on the CD won't install under WinXP. The message says there is an error in the sub vendor type and the device won't start (the title of the drive is also corrupt on disc in the inf). Even after clearing out all traces of the WinTV Go with the included hcwclear program, it won't install. The VFW drivers aren't available on www.hauppauge.com either. The 3.34 WDM drivers work, but not with bundled or v3.52 WinTV2000 software (missing filters that I assume are part of the VFW drivers). DScaler works with the WDM driver, though. I'm sure the software on the included CD works under Win2000 or Win98/98SE/ME, but their WinXP setup is a mess. I didn't look in many places for a fixed .inf, so maybe the problem doesn't even exist if you don't have a bad installation CD.

Both rebates are different... look at the rebate numbers on CUSA rebate printouts.

But I am having hard time setting it up, and might return it
