WinTV 2000 seems buggy, alternatives?

I've just got a Hauppage Nova-T USB2, so I can almost get digital TV, however, the included software is apparently notoriously buggy, and is not playing nicely with Windows 2000 here...

Yes, I'm on SP4 and it's in a USB2 port :)

Anyway, what's the best (preferably free, obviously) software, like Myth TV, but that runs on Windows?

Thanks

I'm a big fan of Snapstream's BeyondTV 4. It's rock solid on my system, and has all the features I need. You can try it out free. To buy it is something like $50 for the software, more if you buy a remote bundle. MCE also seems to work really well on Vista, though the rendering quality isn't as good as Snapstream (probably immature drivers). I haven't used it on XP, since I run Pro and not MCE.

What version of WINT 2k? If you look under the other Haug cards, there are differing versions of the WINTV software, each version works with all cards.

I used gb-pvr for a past year and it worked really well. I recently switched over to BeyondTV 4 because I got it FAR and love it also. You can't go wrong with either one.

GB-PVR is great.

I just wish I could get the xRecord plugins to work with the latest version. :(

I've probably tried every version of Haug's software and none of them are stable. GB-PVR is good for PVR, but not really for just starting it up and watching TV. I forget the software that's good for that but I think there's a thread around here about it.

For just watching TV, I'd recommend DScaler
