I had a Hauppage PVR-250 but it literally fell apart. I decided to pick up a PVR-150, but now WinTV 2000 won't load. It just hangs at the splash screen.

I've tried every driver, every WinTV version, cleaned my registry, cleaned programs out, I've spent hours and hours trying to fix it.

Has anyone had any problems like this?

I'm running an Athlon 1800+ with 256MB of memory, Windows 2000 SP4, and a Tyan Tiger MP motherboard.

Does it just hang or does it come up with an error message?

Ive not had any luck with WinTV 2000 for the past month when I tried to update drivers and such. OIt comes up with an error message every time.

I just use GBPVR now but Id like to get back into WinTV 2000 for the 1 hit record function.

It just hangs, using 100% of my CPU.

I did finally get it to start, and I haven't shut it down. I don't plan to, either. It took about 10 minutes to start.

It's terrible software, so I'm not surprised. Let us know if you find any good alternatives.

Did you try uninstalling it then reinstalling it? Its possible that it had some setting stuck from your TV2000XP that isn't nice to the PVR150.

Yep.

I've cleaned the WinTV stuff out.

It does load now, it just takes a really, really long time.

Lucky you. After loads of removing and reinstalling, Ive not had any luck getting WinTV working yet.

Download a trial to sage or beyond tv to see if they work.

Are you using the hwclear.exe program to remove the drivers? Go here for some help. They have some beta drivers you can try out...

I tried GBPVR and it uses up my resources where WINTV 2000 doesn't at all.

GBPVR is a PVR app and not just a TV app. Not a fair comparison.

WinTV crashes so frequently on my computer and the interface is so annoying.
