I could have sworn that there was a thread with lots of pics of winter tires... can't seem to find it.

Anyway it's got cold over the last couple of days and I managed to get some time off, so the summer tires have been swapped for these -

The boxes contain a set of 16" winter alloys...

Am on the third winter with a set of LM25 Blizzaks. They're still in excellent shape tread wise. Pics are with the set of 18" ASA's I got for a good deal.

Sheesh, looks cold. We've had a couple of colder days and a bit of snow but it didn't really lie. Hopefully it won't be as bad as last year, though I'm now ready...

Nice rims :)

Looks like the midwest. :)

I'm going to try to get through this winter on my all-seasons one more time...won't have enough tread to do so next year. Will be on the lookout for a cheap set of wheels in the spring for my 6.

My wife's focus does very well in the winter on Cooper all-seasons.

I have put a few miles on the tires to get rid of the releasing compound... they seem to grip pretty well. Sound is a bit different from the summers, and ride is more plush on the 205/55 R16 winters than the 225/45 R17 summers.

Going to put about 260 miles on them over the weekend at ~0*C.

Yeah, pic was from two winter ago, no snow yet this year. We really got hammered last year as well. I paid something like $120/ea for the rims brand new, which I thought was a decent deal.

Yup, Milwaukee. First day or two of February 2010 we got hammered with a bunch of snow, and then it drifted. I know I've posted this pic before, but with the above pic for comparison (car is in the same spot) it looks even worse. I'm hoping we don't see a repeat of that either. Although once I got the car unburied, it did really well on roads covered in probably 5" of snow with the Blizzaks.

I run Michelin Xi2 on my outback. I think the ultra grip, blizzak and Xi2 are the most common.
