So the Boston area has a winter storm warning tomorrow. Forecast is for 1-2 inches per hour startiong at ~1 PM. Thankfully, I will be sitting at home, drinking some hot cider, and waiting to let my new snowblower loose on its first run.

Not looking forward to it. Have the day off tomorrow and need to run all of my errands before it starts falling. They're estimating 8-12" with another storm coming a few days afterwards.

Is this the same storm listed as a Colorado Low?

That's coming my way around 8:00 AM depending on various things.

were looking at 20 cm with possible ice pellets.

not to mention blowing and drifting snow due to high winds and cold temps.

I hate snow.

why is it so hard to find an online source that will say exactly how many inches will fall in my area? They seem to just show hourly if it's still snowing or not... what hours it will stop or slow down... umm, cumulative snowfall for this storm please?

most of that work is indoors... they should've put the box up on the pole weeks ago. They made me stare at it for 2 months before lighting me up. :(

Thank the lord. The box went up like a week ago according to my dad. Then again, my dad knows someone in Verizon upper management and knows the work crew that just so happened to do the outside stuff. ;)

I'm incredibly excited in case you can't tell. I'm used to 1.5/768K... so 20/5 will be a nice change. :p :)

It's going to be clear and cool here tomorrow with a high of 59 degrees...

I may ride my motorcycle to work tomorrow.

You guys in CA always say that and we pretend to be jealous just to complete your joke, but change of seasons is actually pretty exciting imo. By this time of year, I'm pretty damned ready to see 6" outside my window... woot. A few weeks ago was only 3". :(

This is not to say people in permafrost states don't like all-sunny-all-the-time, but to me having 4 equal seasons is perfect. Beach-weather on Christmas? F'that.

Come. Let me buy you a drink.

Sure, but it's gonna cost you an arm.

2-5" of snow + a quarter inch of ice.

Dammit, and I told a professor I would meet him after noon tomorrow. Oh well, they should have the roads cleared by then. I just don't relish the idea of carving a car out of solid ice.

I had a hard time finding this info too. Your best bet is to actually read the winter weather advisory/warning on the weatherchannel. For Boston, they are estimating 6-12 inches, with another storm right on this one's heels.

My snowblower can hardly wait!

Meh. I have 20/5 fios and I my speed is always capped server side. Also, I hope they have updated the box that they install in your house. I had to have them come over three times in the first week because the box they put in my house kept crapping out. TGhe tech said their is something likea 50% defect rate in those things.

15-30cm forecast. I am already at work and hope to be home before it gets really bad.

I've been to Cally many times, and it is not all it is cracked up to be IMO.

Then again, you do get to golf more, which is a huge plus.

Are you in the Boston area? If so, do you remember last year? This storm has last year written all over it, and there was no way in hell I was spending another 9 hours in the car trying to get home from the office (which is only 9 miles from my house!)

Nope Toronto, Ontario.

The metric unit should have clued you in :)

Now it has been downgraded to 5-17cm

not much of a stormzilla as they were calling it. I guess the snow just get dumped south of the border :)

From watching TV weather reports it is pretty obvious that all life will end with this snow.

In Michigan we probaly already have 4-6" and it's coming down 1-2" per hour. My car's defrosters couldn't keep up with keeping the side and rear windows clear.
