Winter Project Finally Finished

Finally finished my winter project. Running just over 7 weeks late on my time line but everything done now. Was waiting on tank to be painted. Painter unfortunately still got the lines wrong but live and learn I guess. Time to sell it and move onto something else fun.

You know, every time I start a project I tell myself I'm going to do a build thread. Then every time I need to start taking pictures and write stuff up I'm just like...ehhh maybe next time. =]

As a Rothmans Williams Renault fan I have to say well done!

I've had this sticker on my toolbox for well over a decade.

Sick NSR!!!

Dont sell it! I regret selling my RZ350 to this day.

Where do you live btw?

Went for a ride today in a group of all two strokes. Was soo nice hearing all that ringadingding

I have no idea if it's the colors they use but even some of their f1 cars just look so gorgeous to me. For a bike, the mc21/mc28 rothmans is easily top 5 for me. Along with the nc30/rc30 red/white/blue.

Honestly, it was only intended as a winter project that I could ride in the summer for a little bit then move on. I just don't have much fun riding on the road anymore. I live in Michigan and we have a great track here but very few fun roads to casually ride. Unfortunately, track days are just too expensive for me. I could ride 3 enduros for 1 track day and have the same level of fun.

What other 2 strokes did you guys have in the group?

Looks very nice. When I purchased my first motorcycle I fantasized about getting one of those 2-stroke racing machines.

two rd400s. One RZ350. A really nice Cafe RD350 and my old water buffalo that friend took off my hands this year. The coolest bike was my buddies T500 that is 5k mile survivor that looks pristine.

SMOKERS have more fun ^^

There is a guy here locally in Kokomo that is selling a 96 nsr http://kokomo.craigslist.org/mcy/4520920621.html

I am trying to get him to lower the price but it hasnt had ANYTHING done to it in over a deccade. It has original tires and has been sitting for a while.

A friend of mine had an RD-400 with Bassani tube and a re-jetted carb, he let me ride it a few times, fast as hell, one had to be careful shifting gears above 8k RPM as the front wheel wanted to come up, that bike would dust bike's with twice it's displacement..

ya man the front wheel is so light its not even funny. Makes me stand on the pegs motocross style as it comes up makes my friends laugh every time. Such fun bikes. They are starting to get really scarce too. Rd350s are still cheap and made great projects.

Been looking for a on old set of bassanis or real toomeys but may end up going with DGs since they are so reasonable price wise. This winter plan on doing a banshee balance tube, chambers and a ported head I picked up in trade.

Yea, an RD-400 in decent shape is a $2,500 bike easily and they don't last long on CL either, not a good long-distance cruiser bike at all but the light weight and rapid acceleration is a lot of fun, I doubt any 2-stroke would pass EPA reg's nowadays so that's one reason their value has gone up because their will probably never be another one sold in NA..
