Not looking forward to winter. Due to the hill situation and the car I own (2013 Shelby GT500), I'm going to be walking to and from work when conditions get bad (about 2 miles each way, which isn't too bad, but will suck in bad weather).

Bring on winter baby!
Will silicon the door rubber linings, swap the Pilot SuperSports to Xi2s and give the battery a good charge.

To my knowledge there isn't. But some people try to save a few bucks putting water in over the warmer months.

There most certainly are different blends.

Though TBH, I've never seen non winter fluid when I lived in WI. They sold winter fluid year round.

And winter blend is actually illegal here in the CA Bay area. If I need it to drive out of the area I have to buy it en route once I leave the area. Or just add IPA myself in a pinch.

Funny story, when my wife moved to Wisconsin from here 12 ish years ago, she didn't even know washer fluid was a thing. She had only ever just filled it up with a hose.

my tires are about 60K miles in, with about 6/32's left. passed inspection this last week, should i replace them? they have some minor side wall cracks, and if i go on ramps at a high speed i can hear them chirp. they're michelin primacy mxv4's. i'll be getting a new car within 3 years, probably either in 1 or 2, should i just bite the bullet and get them now before the winter comes?

Let's see, applied Rain X to my windows, some anti fog to interior glass, new wipers, new radiator, new tires, and a pair of Osram Nightbreakers for my high beams. Aside from that, I've a first aid kit, and my 210 lumen flood beam flashlight and spare lithium AAs for it.

Yeah, I'm ready for winter.

Is it the part w/out water??? If so, I'd pass.

I turn on my tap and water still comes out.

Plus, the desalinization plant they're building in Carlsbad will be coming online possibly by the end of next year. We need to build more of those.

I love Rain X but have found that a freshly Rain X'ed windshield causes the ice to almost glue itself to the windshield and almost impossible to remove with an ice scrapper.

Forewarned is forearmed.

Thanks for the forewarning. I tend to apply the stuff after a car wash, usually on a warm day, so I haven't run into that issue as of now.

never heard the shaving cream trick, i'll have to try that on my wife's legacy. The windscreen in that thing is a condensation magnet.

not looking forward to this winter :(

if you're planning on driving in the snow, get winter tires. all seasons with not much tread will be a dangerous experience in snow.

if its a regular snowy day my wife will usually work from home and i'll take her 4wd with brand new tires. regardless i wouldn't be getting winter tires for this car since i dont plan to keep it much longer.
