Ok...I've never encountered this problem before so a lot of it is new to me.
But today at work, yeah I had to work on a saturday, I was reformatting 3 computers since they hadn't been in about 3 years...
The first computer everything installed perfectly from formatting to the final software updates with Microsoft and SP2...
Now the next two are driving me crazy, I can install the OS, then start to do the windows updates and all that, and I even get past the SP2 update, and then onto the next set of updates including the IE7 Upgrade after that, but just after that I loose all connection to the internet but can still access our shared drives on the network and get to our files on the University Network but can't get an internet access or e-mail...
I've gone through and done the Winsock Catalog reset through IE7, I've done the netsh suggestions I've found but none of them work and its driving me crazy...
All 3 computers are exactly the same type of computer from the monitor, to the type of network card, sound card, motherboard, harddrive cd-rom etc etc etc, and I didn't change any steps in the installation of the second and third computers from the 1st one...
Any suggestions you might have will be greatly appreciated.
