I'm not sure how to do this but...

I'm splitting an 8GB file into 100MB volumes via WinRar but it would take around 4 hours for me to do that so...

Is it possible to start the compressing and then later stop and start it at a later time again, continuing where it left off?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Solved

What was the solution?

I would have probably just hit the background button and left it be.

Best option would have been to just use the file splitting option. A file that large has to be something that won't lossless compress well, so why waste the time to compress it.

I was just splitting the image of Splinter Cell: Double Agent into multiple RAR files so I can burn it to two DVDs!
