WINRAR slowing down system?

Is it normal when extracting large files for a system to slow down a lot?
P4 2.8, 1 Gig of ram, and a 7200 RPM hd.

yep. its normal. I usually unrar a bunch of files at once, and go to the kitchen for a sandwich while my 2500+ gets worked to death

I don't really notice it so much when unraring. It's bound more by the harddrive than the CPU. What does your CPU usage look like?

my rigs cpu(s) usually get maxxed out while unraring (dual mp 2400)
