free is nice - but why use this when you can use 7zip?

The question is why use 7zip when you can use WinRAR for free?

I paid for my WinRAR a long time ago because I love it. I stopped installing other compression utilities altogether on my own machines.

When installing compression utilities on other peoples machines (including the ones at work), I use IZArc.

Honestly, I've used 7zip and don't like it. I don't see why people are so facinated by it. Is there some sort of hypnosis going on in the interface that I am immune to?

Can 7 zip split a huge file into parts, with the option to make the initial file .exe so you don't need WinRAR to extra the file? Can you also set a password to open this set of compressed files?
