Winproxy issues with linux box

Bremen

I've been trying to set up a linux box here at home. My dad runs winproxy as the proxy software on his windows machine and unfortunately this is my only net access. As far as I can tell I have the network settings correct and everything however I can't access webpages with the thing, or telnet to the proxy. Setting up fowarded ports works fine, however its a bit of a pain to set up one each time I want to go somewhere new :0)

Any ideas?

yes, in fact every once in a blue moon it will display a page... before winproxy starts ignoring it totally... what really burns me is that when I was running linux on my PII 266 I had no problems getting this to work... I don't have any clue whats different unfortunately :-(
