Our Winn Dixie converted to a Sav-Rite and had just as bad if not worse service and then closed down. They couldn't compete against against all Publix, Super Wal-Mart, Ingles, and Kroger stores in the area.
 
i've never actually shopped at that grocery store, although i did live quite close to one at one point.
 
Read the book. It's better than the movie.

By the way, the title is Because of Winn-Dixie! 😉

ours turned to sav rite too, then turned into a food depot. haven't been in the food depot yet. try to stick with kroger as the one closest to me seems to have a better customer base than the food depot.
