WinMX high CPU Usage

I just installed WinMX today. While I was downloading some things, I noticed that the computer felt sluggish doing other things. I looked in Task Manager and WinMX is using ~80% of the processor. I have a 1.2GHz Athlon with 256MB PC133 ram. There is about 115MB of RAM free. All I have open is WinMX and IE6.

Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a way to make it work better?

BTW, I am runnign Win XP.
