Winmodem vs. Hardware based??

Actually, Winmodems suck. They are only useable under Windows. They CPU Usage is also higher. It's possible to get them running under linux, take a look. I would buy a hardware based modem. It depends on what you need your modem, I had a Winmodem and it worked perfect under Windows, and thats the problem, only under windows...
 
Do a name search for modus or winmodem (and look for modus posts)you will probably find all you ever wanted to know (and lots you didnt )
