winmgmt.exe - apparently a default win2k process, crashes every 2 mins

I came back from setting a map to rebuild in Unreal Editor (you may have heard of it), with a blue screen. So i rebooted, this is my 1st blue screen in windows 2000 ever.

When i rebooted, and got into explorer/desktop, i was locked up. I rebooted again and it said winmgmt.exe has crashed, gave me a blue screen and had to reboot. Now i started up in safe mode, restored to last working config and started up. It works except this error message saying "winmgmt.exe has crashed and needs to be restarted" pops up every 2 mins or so.

I found out from a microsoft site that this is a default windows process, and that i cant just disable it. Anyone know what this process does and/or what would be causing this? Thanks.

Got it fixed. Was some dumb troubleshooting service running in the backround, all i had to do was find out wtf it did and then i killed in it services 🙂
