It's the new WinMetro desktop that comes with Win8; MS is making it available for everyone on previous versions

I dont know why you would want this junk based on a junk OS.

It gives you Metro UI ,,,,, I hate that screen, its for blinds and retards..

haha I think this is the only time i've agreed with one of your post.

who the hell wants to install Metro on a perfectly working copy of windows with a gui that makes sense for a desktop.

P.s next time add the link as someone else already did.

When I first came in here I had no idea what you were talking about.

Proper link: Removed

The link leads to a Download that has Nothing to do with the Topic.

Bring Window 8 Metro UI to Your Desktop

WinMetro is specially designed to bring the newly introduced Windows 8 Metro UI to Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. It offers an easy solution for old version Windows users to try and enjoy the tile based Metro UI. By displaying useful information such as weather, calendar, news, stocks, and frequently used programs, it turns your desktop into an informative and productive work station. It also offers the option to boot to Metro Start Screen directly.

that I originally linked to? If that's not what the OP is talking about he (or you) could post the correct link.

Would be good to troll someone with...

Working PC --> install this garbage --> confusion ensues

Or you could just rotate their display 180 degrees :awe:

Why in the world would someone want to screw up a working PC by putting the metro garbage on it?

LOL, if you can explain to me what people find in the bizarre Lady Gaga and Kim Kardashian, I'll explain to you what others find in the new Tile interface (think iPad with big Icons).

In other words there are Billions of people on the planet, they have different perception of reality, different taste, and there is No right or wrong in these matters just a matter of personal preferences.

When I have to work I use Win 7 (the software apps that I use for work are Not available for the Metro style), when I go on a Trip, sit in front of my Smart TV, or performing similar tasks, I like better the big tiles for easy control.

You want to use Win 8 Desktop and ignore the Metro, try this and go on with life.

Wasting time on nonsense is much more "crazy" than a new interface to an OS.

---------
P.S. The real Metro Style on Win RT and Win 8 is a real new concept in the working of OS.

The 3rd party addons for old OS' that is the topic of this thread is just a small app that make the Desktop looks Visually in a Tile style and have few per-programed links the regular XP/Vista/7 programs.

Appears to be a 3rd party skin type of thing, not something from MS. Not sure why someone would want to do such a thing regardless.
