WinME, unable to do things Win98 did?

I just upgraded to Me, I have a couple questions. One how does one disable fast shutdown? The options is not where it was in Win 98. Also I was wondering where the option to turn off the logon to microsoft networking? (You know that annoying window that prompts for username and password when you start the OS)
thanks

For the Microsoft login part, this is what you do in win9x. I am not sure if it will work for winME but here goes:

First, do a search for all your *.pwl files... you should see one which is associated with your computer login... delete it... Then without re-starting, go into network properties and change your login option to Windows Login... Restart... next time you go into Windows, you should get a box for you to enter a username and password... Enter an username and leave the password blank...

That should do it!

Microsoft removed the fast shutdown option and reverted back to the old slower shutdown, so there is no need to set it. It was causing too many problems in Win98SE...the shutdown patches for that removed the option as well.

MS removed the fast shutdown in ME, which I find rather annoying because I quite liked that part of 98se and it worked well for me.

Yeah, my comp shuts down too fast and I guess there isn't anything I can do about it... Maybe the next service pack?
