WInME.. sucks... downgrade to Win98SE?

I dual boot ME and 2k... i hate ME.. it's nice in some ways.. but... little screwy here and there..

WHAT is the difference??? People in this forum dont like ME.. but why.... all Win9x SUCKS i know.. but i need something besides win2k.... i already know win2k is god and win9x is.. well... sucks...


 
9x may suck, but ME is bloatware compared to 9x. that's why 9x is still around in such force.

i "dual boot" 98 and win2k. i put dual boot in quotes because i'm in 2k 99.9% of the time, but it's nice to have 98 there just in CASE i decide to play a game or something. other than linux, you're only option to continue dual booting is to stick to 9x, so i guess you've just gotta pick one or the other.

but i do know some people needs 98se for games and a few other things. Me is a screwed up OS. i'm not going to even waste my time telling you all the problems i had, my friends had, and all the info that is bad on it. 98se, is your best choice besides 2k. granted Me does start up faster than 98se, but thats the only thing that's better. ME is bloatware. IF you keep 98se clean in the registry, defraged, etc. you can usually keep 98 stable. it'll be a cold day in hell if you can keep Me stable for more than 2 weeks. IMO

I am SICK of ME giving me the BS crash blue screen.. i wanna sue MS for marketing this disguised wannabe 2k.. what the hell are they trying to do?? rip off more people than they are now??? good thing those chinese people are still running the black market to sell those outrageously priced MS products...

ANyway, im gonna change to win98se/win2k... and use Ghost to back them up..
 
That is exactly what I did. W98SE and W2k. ME was a huge problem for many of my fellow workers &amp; classmates.

 
I experienced the same thing and downgraded to 98SE about a week of frustrating ME use. Horrible piece of bloatware produced by Microsh*t like usual.
 
Win 2K is God only to those that value Micro$oft Corporation.I run 2k, but any M$ product is one too many, IMHO. I wanna get Linux, Beos,whatever.I've had it with WINTEL. I'd gladly pay double for something that works well, and is made to last, than give another cent to &quot;The Fourth Reich&quot;.

Anybody know what's the best non-M$ OS available for the desktop? Mandrake Linux? I'm ready to plunk down some cash,I have the need to be free of WINTEL.Forever.

Take your XP and try to GIVE it away.😀🙂
 
yah, agree with ya man one MS product is one to many. but for home and work enviroment you basically need windows to do what you need. i mean games and apps. but i think everyone needs to start using linux so there will be more software writers for it. In my opinoin Read hat 7.1 is the best with kde. thats what i use.
