I'm sure this question has been asked before and all. But I was wondering. I hear to use Win98SE for games and that WinME is pretty horrible with games. But I wanna know what ya'll think.

Thanks

I would say WinME is better over all. I am always playing games. I ran both Win98SE and WinME ever since they came out. WinME has been 100%stable for me even with being OC'd. Games run flawless. The biggest problem people have is driver issues that don't always have to do with WinME. I always turn off all non essintial programs before playing games. The less things running the less chance drivers will fail and the more reasources you have for games. It has alot to do with how you keep things managed. Simpler the better. Also WinME gets rid of Dos swap file which gives a small increase in performance. Either one though (win98se or wiME) is good for gamming. If you have Win98SE it probably wouldn't really make enough difference to buy WinME just for gamming. Thats my opinion as a gammer.

My vote is for Win98SE Lite. I love having the stability and features of Win98SE, and the fast explorer of Win95. Of course my system may not be as stable as NT or Win2K, but it does not crash often.

As far as gaming goes, this configuration runs great. Nearly everyone will tell you that Win98SE is the way to go for gaming right now. I have not used ME, but am sure it is a resource hog, just like Win98 UnLite. I run many older (2-4 years ago) games like Fallout1/Fallout2, Diablo, Warcraft2, etc. and they all run fine.

Then again, Win98SE and WinME are pretty much the same, with the exception of ME being more up-to-date. If you were asking about Win98SE and Win2K for gaming, then it would be a different story.

you may have compatibility probs with WinME, i've seen it more then once, although now it's a lot better.

98SE is still the best by far when compatibility is an issue though, and it'll work with anything. it's not as rock stable as say Win2k but it'll run anything.
