WinME network log-on problem

I have 3 computers with WinME, two of which came preloaded. Those two have no problems browsing the home network and transfering files. The third, I loaded myself. It will not browse the network or transfer files until, I "log off" and log back on. I have messed with all the different clients with no success. All the computers are using:

Client for MS Networks
<specific adapter>
NetBEUI
TCP/IP
File & print sharing for MS Networks

I reloaded a friends computer, with WinME because he was having problems and now he is experiencing this exact same problem. What did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

Are you prompted to log on to the network when you boot into Windows? If not then it means that you have not logged onto the netowok. I had that problem. Other PC on the LAN could see my PC but I couldn't see them. Go to the contol panel and click on Users. Set up a user. You can use TweakUI to automatically log you in. A blank password is OK but you have to be logged in to see the network.
