WinME "MS-DOS compatibility mode file system"

I'm just finishing up configuring my new athlon/KT7-RAID system, and there's just one quirk. Under system properties/performance, it said that I'm running both my partitions under MS-DOS compatibility mode file system. I have no idea what this means. I installed the VIA 4-in-1 drivers and the HPT370 controller, my config.sys is empty and my autoexec.bat only has

SET windir=C:\WINDOWS
SET winbootdir=C:\WINDOWS
SET COMSPEC=C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM
SET PATH=C:\WINDOWS;C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND
SET PROMPT=$p$g
SET TEMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
SET TMP=C:\WINDOWS\TEMP

any suggestions?
