I work at a Sigecom which is a local ISP here in southern Indiana and I had this customer today that had WinME. He was wanting to be able to dial up with our services. Every time he tried to connect, it would go through the usual dialing..verifying username/pw routine and then it would say disconnecting. This would happen to him all the time regardless. He said that he had Win95 before and he could connect fine. I personally have had this exact problem also. We were both dialing into the same V.90 server too. I am wondering if it is the ME's settings somewhere with this specific server. I have removed the dialer, removed EVERYTHING in network and also removed and reinstalled DUN. I then had him remove everything except dial up adapter and TCP/IP. Have also made sure all of his TCP/IP settings are cool. The modem that he had was a Supra 56I which is a Rockwell HCF chipset and I have tried about 7 or so inits with him but to no avail. Do any of you guys know what the problem could be with this guy?
I normally wouldn't hassle with work related issues in my personal forums but this one is really gettin me. I hate it when I am completely stumped! 🙂
Thanks alot if any of you guys know anything about this.
