I used to have windows ME on C: and Windows 2k Advanced Server on D:. Everything works fine till I decided I need more space for 2k. So changed the size for the partition and ME doesn't boot anymore. So I for some stupid reason decided to format c: and install win ME over again. so now I can get into ME but the bootloader is gone. Any suggestion as of what I should do?

Also, what is the best boot loader / manager out there that I can use in this kind of situation?

thanks in advance.

here's what you do - repartition your drive so that you have 3 partitions rather than just C and D. call this new partition X and designate that as your boot partition. reinstall ME on the C: partition. Your computer should now boot ME. Now install Advanced Server and when it asks you where you want to install it, select the D partition. after that's done, you'll have the boot loader in the X partition. I think during installation the boot loader automatically realizes that there is also ME on the system and adds that entry to the boot.ini file, but if its not there, you can always add it yourself. NT's bootloader is pretty handy if you use it this way (in its own partition)

Did you make an emerg. repair disk for w2k. If so, just repair the w2k installation and everything will be back to normal.

Run "Setup" from the Win2k CD. Select the "Repair" option. Then select the "Manual" repair. Choose to repair the "Boot" files.
