WinME and System Resources Please RSVP

I remember reading that winME is a resource hog... That a person had to dbl the amount of ram just to have a reasonable amount of free resources. Someone responded that there was a way to lower the amount of resources that winME uses by disabling a feature somewhere in the system properties. Can anyone respond with the answer Thanks..
