WinME and hibernation: strange problems

When my WinME computer comes out of hibernation (power managed sleep mode), my computer pauses for a second every second or two.

As an example, if I move my mouse across the screen, it will stop for a second and then move again. If I'm writing text or on the web, the cursor or browser will freeze for a moment.
It's not a monitor issue because when I turned off "hard disk" and "system stanby" power management I still had the same problem.

Any ideas?

I think it's just that data are being read into the RAM, so everything freeze up a bit to give room.

This is NOT a temporary problem. It happens continuously until I reboot my computer.

This is a recent installation of WinME. The odd thing is I'm also getting program crashes and I've even gotten a blue screen a couple of times!!!!! I *really* need to figure out what I get those at work, at home, on Win95, 98, and now on ME!!!

Easternerd:

How detailed info do you need on my system? Basic OS version, amount of RAM, etc.?
