winme and asus a7v please help!!

When im installing windows ME the setup show me a strange error :
APLICACION ERROR
W9X SETUP CAUSED A GENERAL PROTECCION FAULT IN MODULE W9X SETUP.BIN AT 003:1298
or..... FAULT IN MODULE USER.EXE AT 0001:40B6
or..... FAULT IN KRNL386.EXE AT 0001:93C7
or..... FAULT IN SUWIN.EXE AT 0003:1D1C

also an error in MS-DOS that says : STANDARD MODE: BAD FAULT IN MS-DOS EXTENDER

ANY SUGGESTION?

Hmm. You have a fairly similar setup to me (see my sig). I never had this problem (I have 2 machines like my sig).

Are you overclocking? Is your system running hot? Check the voltages and make sure that they are correct.

Other than that, the only difference is you have the ATI card ...

im not overclocking, my temp. is about 40-45 c. my cpu vcore is 1.75
