roy had no help defensively, that's why they lost imo.

Roy just flat out got beat on all of MCartys goals. Each one of them he missed or like the last goal he misplayed the puck and it came back and bit him.

Well he was screened by Foote on the first one, on the second one there wasn't an Avalanche player within 20 feet of McCarty, and on the last one the Avs just let two Wings rush the net.

Personally, I don't think all of them were his fault, though he might have been better placed on the second one (but then again, I don't know what I'm talking about).

come on man. roy is not a noob when it comes to goaltending. when you let a 3 on 1 happen in your zone you know that the defense has to have their heads up their asses.

yes he was screened by Foote but it wasn't that great a screen. It was a great shot. As you point out he was beat 1 on 1 on the second goal by another great shot. that third goal was all Roy he badly misplayed it which is what led to the goal.

Right a 3 on 1 and no fancy passes. Roy saw it all the way and was in perfect position and got beat by a perfect shot.
Don't get me wrong I think this game featured the two best goalies in the game today. One of them made the big saves when he had to early to keep his team in the game. The other didn't make the big ones this time. I expect Roy will be a wall in the next game. Wings gave up some pretty weak odd man rushes in the first couple of periods.

First career hat trick in 500+ games. Go figure. The upside for us Wings fans anyway is the last time i saw him playing even close to this was when he was scoring game winners in the Stanley cup finals.

Roy looked great at times, but he also gave up a couple of stinkers. I don't think it is going to get any better for the Avs as the series goes on.
