Wing Commander Prophecy- Video Runs Too Fast

Topic says it all

Video while in the cockpit seems fine, but all other story video runs 2-3x normal rate. Have no idea why.

Recently tried dual booting with 98 and saw that this happened. With XP, Prophecy now works but same video problem. Tried a W2K patch from wcnews but that didn't have any effect on it either.

Have tried running in software and hardware mode, toggled all the options I could find in game, even tried different install sizes.

Is there a speed lock or anything? I've e-mailed Origin/EA tech about it, and they really don't think it's just a fast computer issue.
