winfs install

when i try to insall winfs, it says clr 2.0.5 not installed. what is clr?
and where can i get it?

Not to be an ass or anything but if you couldn't figure that minor problem out on your own do you think its wise to try a "beta" file system???

Just be sure to use encryption and passwords to complete the fun. And be sure not to back up anything.

hey i googled it. and it said .net this and .net that. so i just ignored it.

as i understand it its just ntfs with metadata on top, so i'm hoping it won't completely get borked.
i'll just use knoppix to get the files back if it crashes. i hope.

so what should i expect with this new winfs? any gui level changes? can i use this instead of say indexing s/w?
