WinFast TV Tuner 2000 XP Help!!

I just bought this card on NewEgg and installed both the CD drivers and the updated drivers from Leadtek's website and everytime I start up the program it freezes. The card works, I get the video for like 2 seconds, then the whole system completely locks up.

I'm using Microsoft Windows XP, AMD Athlon XP 1900+, Soyo Dragon+, GeForce3 Ti500.

I've tried for hours on getting this thing to work on this box. I tried on my other computer (Microsoft Windows XP, Pentium 3 700MHz, GeForce DDR) and it worked fine on the first try. I'm really struggling with this computer and I have no idea why.

Does anybody have any ideas? I'm desperate here!

I don't have any ideas for you but your problem interests me. I have a similar system and I am going to be buying the Deluxe version of that product (I mean the wife is getting it for me for Christmas 😀 ) so I may face the same problem. Good luck fixing it though.

I too have experienced problems with this same TV Tuner card, but even more severe than you. I'm running some tests right now.

No serious problems with my Leadtek and Windows XP although the driver installation method described in the manual didn't match what I really had to do. The drivers on the CD were current (I also bought mine from Newegg).

The only quirk is with my Live! As soon as a start to record using Leadtek's PVR, all the sound moves to the left-side speakers. I can use Creative's Surround Mixer to change my speaker config and it fixes it.

I emailed their tech support about 15 times, and have been chatting with them back and forth. After trying everything they suggested with no results, they want me to send the card, just the card, back. I don't see how this will fix anything considering it works perfectly fine in another computer.

Oh well...I'll wait a few more days to see if anyone has a fix before I send the card back.

I got the deluxe version about a month ago and it rocks. Picture quality is excellent. I didn't use the driver disc that came with it though. I downloaded everything off the site. My friend bought one the same time and he did his installation with the discs and had problems. I, on the other hand, encountered no problems and have yet to have problems. I'd try uninstalling and reinstalling the softwares off their site.

Good luck. 🙂
