WinExec failure: result=5???

Hey all,

I am in the process of moving a bunch of files and programs to another computer. One program is called TimeForce and it has a Timeclock Management Utility. I have two versions 2.3 (on a CD) and 2.4 (internet download) and whenever I try to install it I get the WinExec failure error.

I have disabled NX-Bit and all virus scanning but it still spews out the same error. I'm running as an Administrator so it can't be a permissions issue.

Do you have any idea of what this means?

I'm stumped.

You don't move programs from one machine to another. You need to run the installer to setup the registry pieces of the puzzle or you get exactly those types of errors.

They are both the installers, I know that simply moving a program is a much more complicated task. 🙂

Although I did figure out the problem, that particular machine didn't allow 16-bit executables. Which is exactly what the setup file is.

Awwww, you know I've seen this error when manually extracting files from a zip. Did you run them from a zip and force the files into a folder or let it extract tiself on the unzip?

n/m - I just realized you were using a 16-bit installer and 64 bit chips don't support 16-bit. 🙂
