We have this wine rack that we want to put out on display in the kitchen but the only places that we can put it are near the baseboard heating. How bad an idea is this? We dont want to ruin all the wine.

If you keep that baseboard heater shut off, you're fine.

If you can't do that - well, heh.

You could just close the vents on that heater. Kitchen might get a little cold though.

Or you could see how warm wine gets if you only put it on the top couple of shelves.

I would recommend strongly against storing it there unless it's really cheap wine. Check out this link for info on temperature effects on wine Link

If you want to display, maybe just display bottles of the wines you already drank.

Heat increases the rate at which wine ages. So if you have some wine that is meant to be aged, its gonna age alot quicker. If you have wine that is meant to be consumed right away, you'll most likely ruin the wine. Try and keep it below 65 degrees.

Just as long as the wine comes in cartons you're fine...

I think there is a reason for wine "CELLARS".

besides heat being an issue, does the rack allow for the bottles to tip slightly forward to allow the corks to stay wet?
