OK, I was out to eat tonight, and got a bottle of red wine with dinner.

after dinner, the wine was corked up and brought home, should I keep it in the fridge or the pantry?
 
Won't keep very long either way without one of those devises that remove the air or replace it with another gas.
 
Pantry. Do not chill red wine. Ever.

Drink it within a few weeks and it will be just fine so long as you keep it in a relatively cool dark place. Don't put it sunlight and don't let it sit in a hot room for any length of time.
 
You can chill red wine just fine, but let it come up to temp a bit before serving. Since it was opened I would have kept it in the fridge to help preserve whatever aromatics would be left in the wine. Take it out maybe 30 minutes before you plan on serving it.

Depends on definition of "chilled". Wine cellars, where they age the wine, are generally fairly cool if not chilly places, depending on the season. Roughly, 45-65 degrees that I've experienced in France, ranging from summer to winter.

"Within a few weeks"??? After 3 days without any help, the wine will be mostly toward vinegar unless you have no taste buds to tell the difference. With a vacuum sealer, it'll last 4-5 days, perhaps more depending on the how much is left, without too much change in taste. I've never used one of the inert gas injectors, but those might work even better (which is why they are fairly expensive). The length of time it will last also depends on how long it was exposed to the air during dinner. If it was allowed to "breath", it'll oxidize a good amount no matter what you do.

I wouldn't go near a 2-3 week old opened bottle of red wine unless I was making a salad dressing. :disgust:
