Just curious on what kind of wine people prefer. I know certain wine pairs with other things, just asking in general.

Rioja, Pinot Noir, Cab/Shiraz blends... so yeah, pretty much any red.

Save the white wine for my grandma.

It really depends on what I want. Sometimes I want a buttery white or a suck-on-an-oak barrel red or anything in between. I answer dry red because if forced to pick only one, that would be it.

Big bold dry California-style reds. I know stylistically they aren't supposed to hold a candle to the lighter European style wines, but I like what I like. :)

Semi-dry reds. I don't want it tasting like cough syrup, but I don't want it to pucker my mouth either.

There is a good zin called Gnarly Head. I grabbed it because it was reasonably cheap and the name was awesome (what can I say, like the great Zap Brannigan, I'm a coin-isseur).

Anyway, I really liked it and whenever I grab wine now I usually get a bottle of Gnarly Head old vine zin.

It's a Mendocino wine, isn't it? [Edit] Or is it Lodi?

I tried a very small amount of wine a few times over the course of a few days and even though I wanted to like it, it was perhaps the most objectionable thing I've ever tasted. I tried Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Maybe I should try white.

Wait...

I have yet to find a wine I like. The sweeter the better if I have to drink it but I generally prefer to stick with German wheat beers (the real ones, mind you) or mixed drinks if I'm drinking at all.
