The 2000 year was exceptional for Bordeaux. The quality of reasonably priced wines from that vintage are better than many top dollar estate wines from other years. I am drinking one right now.

Highly recommended.

I just started a '99 Cotes d'Or Pinot Noir tonight, and it was pretty good. I don't know much about the '00 Bordeaux vintages, but from which Chateau is it? They aren't usually all created equal.

Hard to find a bad one. I havent the bottle handy, but it's a Medoc.

Edit:

The 00 vintage is often thought to be the best in a generation.

I'm working on some random bottle of red that I got from the Fresh Market. Maybe I'll try out the Bordeaux, how much does a bottle run?

YMMV.

I paid about $22 for this bottle. I have seen 00's in the ten dollar range which I have read to be pretty good. No, not as good as a thirty dollar bottle, but better than a thirty dollar bottle of most years.

Yeah, I've heard the fanfare for a while, but I don't know anything about the taste as I haven't had one :(. I'm trying to get my hands on an '02, but even that's proving difficult. I read in the latest spectactor that much of the '03 Burgundys are turning out well.

That's not bad at all. Next time I'm looking for a bottle I'll try and check it out.:wine:
