I love the "video on desktop" option :) What DVD player do you guys use? I only use it for testing burned dvd's myself, but I thought it's cool.

yep :) I like PowerDVD too, but recently got stuck on WinDVD. Wow, moved that fast? I thought this was OT, aimed at the usual OT people. I feel *violated* :) Oh well.

WinDVD feels bloated to me..takes a long time to load up. PowerDVD feels better to me. Quality is about the same IMHO

I only use PowerDVD 4.0 and I find it to "hang" more often than not. For some reason, I have yet to give WINDVD a try...

PowerDVD spontaneously reboots my computer for some odd reason. I like WinDVD... does seem slightly bloated, but with today's systems, you can't really tell anyways.

PowerDVD released patch for XP few months back. Get the latest version if you haven't already.

yea video desktop is kewl. i'd like to cut those dvd vobs into smaller bits though, maybe only show one scene over nad over on the desktop. f ull dvd on harddrive is big!
also like windvds multispeed playback with sound, i use that a lot.

I have WinDVD and PowerDVD, but I've been using WinDVD over PowerDVD since I first got it. Yeah, it seems to be a bit bloated/unstable at times, but I half think that's my very fussy DVDROM (Pioneer, go figure)

WinDVD quality seems a little bit better- use the Movie Effector adjustments to see a big difference. You have to turn hardware acceleration off to use it.
