I have a 5.1 sblive card, think it is the mp3 version. i have to jump through hoops to get 5.1 sound with windvd 6. on startup, all it shows is 2 speaker. i close it then open up the 'sounds & multimedia' under control panel and see that i have 5.1 speakers selected. i must select desktop speakers & hit ok. open it again, select 5.1 speakers, hit ok. i can now open windvd and select the 6 speaker setup. if i close windvd, i have to start the speaker selection process all over again since windvd says i only have 2 speakers.
i have the latest drivers for sblive & the 5.1 test in the mixer app from creative works fine. i had a similar issue with windvd5 which is why i tried 6. i'm running sp4 and have the latest windows fixes although i just installed this soundcard last week.
