How do i get this program to stop running in the background everytime i restart?

I don't use windvd, but maybe this'll help:
start->run->msconfig

under the startup tab look for any suspicious entries and uncheck them

Also, services.msc for those really pesly programs.

Don't forget to check your start menu's startup folder. It could be as simple as deleting an entry in there.

Did you look in the WinDVD options? There's probably a way to make it not start up with Windows.
