Windvd 2000 software

I installed a Pioneer 16x DVD with no control card, it's OEM and came with no software. On my PNY video card driver disc was a copy of Windvd but it was a trial version.

I went to Windvd's site following the URL provided for the whole version, they want $49.00 to make it whole. I don't mind paying for software but that doesn't seem like a fair charge for putting my drive into service. Is there some DVD software that works on 2000 that is good but not looking to take advantage of the users? :disgust:

sorry, seems the best player out there is the intervideo windvd. i'm using 3.0 right now..playing dvds at 1.5-2.0x with normal sound is pretty neat.. especially for directors commentaries. dts decode also good. best picture/sound out there, and dolby headphones now work. and yes, oem drives don't come with decent software, my pioneer certainly didn't.

i guess you could try it out for a while, you can try morpheus. then you can decide whether its worth the money.(btw apparently windvd 3.0 has slightly worse picture quality then 2.0 oddly. they'll probably fix it soon enuph) windvd still sets the standard for quality though.
